National Invitational Wildlife Contest

Date - March 24-26, 2026

 The contest will be open from 8:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday, March 24 through 5:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, March 26.

Format

 The National Invitational Wildlife Contest uses a structured virtual format that allows students from across the country to participate without travel. Each student completes the contest individually within a designated testing window, using digital exams and scantrons while being monitored by advisors to maintain consistency and integrity. 


The contest consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and 50 identification questions.

 The Wildlife Identification Sheet is an official reference resource listing the species that may appear on the contest. It may be used as a reference during the contest and provides a standardized guide to ensure consistency and fairness in wildlife identification.
